Fantastic 4

Has anyone else seen this movie yet,if you havent seen it yet i highly recomend it,its really good, the cast, the script, its the right blend of action, comedy, drama, and jessica alba!
The bad guy (Victor Vom Doom) is played by the same guy from Nip/Tuck (the bloke who plays christain)hes a really great bad guy,he plays it so well!
its a great movie and if you havent yet seen it ,you really should.
P.S Jessica Alba is well fit in this movie (shes nancy from Sin City).
If you have seen it, what do u think of it?

Re: Fantastic 4

I've not seen it. I was really excited about this film when I first saw the trailers. I like the Fantastic Four and The Thing has always been one of my fave superheros. But then I have read poor review after poor review and have been put off somewhat, so I'm interested that you liked it so much.

Re: Fantastic 4

Poor reviews mean nothing as some people find films to love that are supposed to be rubbish according to the media.

Don't give in, fight the system! Or something.

Re: Fantastic 4

Yeah it is a fun film. I think the finale could have been a bit better, but it is a very lighthearted entertaining film as it realizes it can't make something as corny as the FF serious so it just has a laugh. Chiklis si especially good as the Thing.

Re: Fantastic 4

Fantastic Four, like all other good superheroes, have one weakness: saving innocent victims. The fight against their enemy was short-lived. The scriptwriter should put innocent lives in danger such as flicking sky high some of the cars or buses with the driver and passengers in the streets. Spiderman 2 had peoples lives put in danger.

Re: Fantastic 4

I thought it was pretty good, as far the all the Marvel movies to date go, they had the most to juggle, so I think they did ok. Lots of characters to handle, so the development may have been a bit cookie cutter, but, hey, it's a comic book movie.

It's looking like Marvel is going for a very Sci-Fi approach to the Fantastic 4 franchise, with the upocoming sequel to feature the Silver Surfer. I assume then that Galactus will figure into it as well, then.

Would love to see how they pull that off! CG people working overtime!

I picked this up cheap on DVD recently. Definitely put it in the category of mindless fun. Lots of dodgy plot problems and a somewhat weak final battle but all in all I had a good time watching it and was entertained. Can't ask for much more!

Re: Fantastic 4

From what I've heard (and who knows how accurate this info is) Galactus is the villain for the next film and the FF will be aided by the Silver Surfer played by Vin Diesel. Sounds promising.

Yeah, no kidding. I'm guessing the second film (if they've got any brains at all) will have a smaller budget than the first, so they may have to get clever on the use of effects. IMDb lists the estimated budget of the first film at $100 million. Which is way too much for a first movie in a hoped-for franchise, IMO. The film made $150 million domestically, so I'm sure after all is said and done (worldwide & DVD) they made a tidy profit, but still, you like to have a bit of room to work with.

Problem with FF is that you've got 3 people to do effects for every time they use their superpower, then you've got villians and all your other normal effects to consider. They just need to be smart about everything, so they don't enter the realm of absurdity, a film that costs $150-200 million to make.
