Post Tucson, AZ Tarzan fans can "Rumble in the Jungle" through November 4

Tucson's Live Theater Workshop is presenting "Rumble in the Jungle: A Tarzan Tale" every Sunday from 1 to 2 PM through November 4. The musical is locally written and produced.

From: Tucson Events Calendar:
The story of Tarzan is retold in this adaptation by Megan Patno. Tarzan (Eric Schumacher) happens upon Jane (Missie Scheffman) and her father (Steve McKee), who are doing research in his African home. Jane and her father quickly become friends with Tarzan and his hyper-active animal friends Lyonitae (Kristi Loera) and Zebunindi (Debbie Runge) and they all travel through the forest to meet Tarzan’s gorilla mother Samundee (Deborah Breedlove). Even as they fall in love, Jane and Tarzan realize that they come from very different worlds and cannot be together. They struggle to understand each other, narrowly escape poachers and discover the wonders of the primitive and modern worlds colliding in this wild musical adventure from All Together Theatre, Live Theatre Workshop’s Family Series. Performances run every Sunday through Nov. 4

Review from Tucson Weekly (includes a picture):

Edgar Rice Burroughs' well-known vine-swinger, Tarzan, stars in the newest children's production from Live Theatre Workshop, featuring an original script, music and choreography.

The quirky cast of lions, zebras and gorillas will be entertaining for kids and adults, says LTW executive director Kristi Loera. Adapted for the stage by director Megan Patno, and with original music by David Ragland, the performance is sure to have kids and parents clapping and singing along, says Loera.
"The show is amazing," she says. "We really have taken our children's theater up quite a level."
