There are a lot of tales about evil people who became ghosts and witches, and wizards in folktales. What are some of them?

There's the Baba Yaga in Russia, I don't know if she "became" one, I only know about her from Hellboy comics.

Bab Yaga was a witch. She was not a ghost that became a witch.

I can't recall anything of that nature, unless the reference is to possession of some kind.
