Simone Kessell from Herc/Xena on Reaper

Not sure if anyone watches the show Reaper but Simone Kessell - a former Herc and Xena guest star, who also had an infamous role on Lost World, will be guest starring in an upcoming episode called No Reaper Left Behind. She plays Sally, a tutor sent to help the main character bring about the "end of days", or something like that.

The original airdate was listed as April 28. But due to an unexpected rerun next week, it may be airing May 5 now. It airs on the CW Network in the States.

Reaper is a comedy/fantasy/action type show about a guy named Sam who snatches escaped souls from Hell for the Devil. The show airing on the CW Network might be its death blow, as it isn't a good fit for the "teeney" network. I feel both Smallville and Reaper would have been better off elsewhere, so the "teeney" aspects could be dropped. The show reminds me of Brimstone, but with comedy since I recall Brimstone being dark and serious.

The real star of Reaper is Ray Wise as the Devil. He does a great job in that role. The eyecandy in the form of Missy Peregrym, a Canadian actress, is a nice treat. The show is in its second season. A third doesn't look possible at the moment.

I don't like lighthearted, semi-comedic sf/fantasy.
I like it serious, but with light moments.

Missy is a total doll, and IMO, the 2nd best-looking chick on 'Heroes' besides Hayden.

I hadn't realized that Simone has made a stab at some US roles. I see that she has had guest roles on both CSI: Miami and Criminal Minds (wondering if she played Australian?) as well as the crucial role of "Airport Check-In Woman" in Frost/Nixon. She had bit parts in three of the Herc tv movies, then 3 different roles in the series - Herc's sister-in-law Rena, the main Amazon in Love amazon Style, and the killer-zombie-babe in We'll Always Have Cyprus, Plus she was one of the pageant contestant on XWP in "Here She Comes, Miss Amphipolis." And then did all the usual NZ/AU shows, from Lost World to Farscape to Beastmaster to Water Rats to All Saints.

The official preview for the episode mentioned her name:

"THE DEVIL SENDS SAM A TUTOR — The Devil (Ray Wise) wants Sam (Bret Harrison) to begin his training to bring about the end of days so he sends him a tutor named Sally (guest star Simone Kessell). Sam decides to seduce Sally to get information from her about how to beat the Devil."

Looks like the episode will still air April 28 afterall. Appears there was some sort of listing mixup for next week, so it seemed the rest of the season was going to be pushed back a week.

Lionsgate and ABC is supposed to release the second season of Reaper on dvd June 9. That is a week or so after the season finale airs. Since ABC is also behind LOTS, one must wonder if it'll get a dvd release soon after as well. I'm guessing not since there would have been official word about it already if it were coming up sometime in June.

Noticed another former RenPics in Reaper's credit, Jeff Vlaming. I think Chris Black was on the team for season 1.

Caught this tonight. The second season of Reaper has been a hit or miss for me, the main story is interesting but the romantic B suplots are annoying and I just can't get into them. Simone's part was okay. I thought the episode as a whole was one of the better ones of the season. Ray Wise always manages to steal the show. The actor that plays Sam looks like a younger version of Robert Leeshock (the guy that played Liam on Earth Final Conflict). I can't say I am surprised this one's 99.9% cancelled. I'd like to see it go another 13 episodes, or at least get some closure. But I've been through enough shows to know that ain't going to happen.
