'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus': trailer gives glimpse

"Nothing is permanent, not even death."

That's what Johnny Depp's character says in the just released trailer for "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus."

Depp is playing a version of the character also played by Heath Ledger in the last movie he shot before he died, so Depp's statement rings both true and false at once: on the one hand, we've just seen Ledger, smiling and kissing the title character's daughter, played by Lily Cole, as if he was indeed every bit alive.

But the very fact that Depp is in the movie to begin with is a stark reminder that Ledger was not around to finish filming what turned out to be his last role.
