I list all of these as rumors since not one of the 9 projects he's been linked to have actually gotten underway yet. (Although in one case, The Hobbit, it actually ended up being passed along to another director, and really was just a rumor, based on a few "talks.")

"Refuge" centers on a remote town terrorized by a Yeti, the mythological creature native to the mountains of the Himalayas.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that he's producing a new film called Refuge, to be directed by an unknown director from the UK named Corin Hardy (his background apparently is in music videos for bands like Prodigy and Keane, but he "pitched" this project) from a script by Tom de Ville (also obscure, but wrote a few eps of Lexx.) A number of places, like
SciFi Wire, note that this is similar to the way Peter Jackson produced District 9, especially since hardy is first going to do a short film version of this as they develop the feature. But of course, Sam and co. did that all the way back in 1979 with the Super-8 Evil Dead precursor "Within the Woods," and Sam has been producing up-and-coming directors since the early 90's.
