British inventors create Harry Potter wand remote TV control

Well, I won't be hollaring "Expecto Patronum" any time soon but apparently some Harry Potter fans will be able to "swish and flick" in order to change what they are watching, according to this article.

It would be kind of a geeky cute/cool to have a household remote control device that you could use to interface with your television, appliances, and heating/cooling system.

Heck, why not also a wall-mounted video phone? We could separate the Mundanes (muggles) from the Fans by seeing who has a Home Control Wand in their back pocket.

In the old days we used to just look for book cases lined with dusty copies of classic science fiction and fantasy novels. But thanks to the Kindle and its competitors, those bookcases are probably getting a bit more rare.
