"Snarky pulp ubermensch" - Brisco County Jr in review

The self-proclaimed "scathing review" site Pajiba has a review of Brisco County Jr that's anything but scathing. The author of the review, Steven Lloyd Wilson, has plenty of love for the show's actors, especially Bruce Campbell ("sheer charisma") and Billy Drago ("the perfect foil").
He also heaps praise on the show's writing and characterization:

Humor defined the show more than anything else, a tongue-in-cheek and sarcastic wit difficult to explain without lengthy quotes, wild gesticulations, long descriptions of context, followed by blank stares from those who’ve never seen the show. It’s got that quality of dialogue that Joss Whedon eventually ran with, the one where the you listen for the dialogue as much as you watch for the story. You can read lists of quotes from the show and it summons fully fleshed characters and interactions from memory.

Thank you for sharing this. I didn't see this series until it came out on DVD, but I think it is probably the best thing Bruce Campbell performed in. Too bad it only lasted one season.
