Talking Bones homages The X-Files on Th. 1/14 @ 8 PM on Fox

The episode is called "The X in the File." The director, Allison Liddi, has done eps of the new Twilight Zone, Chuck, The 4400, Roswell, Voyager, and Xena, as well as dozens of mainstream shows.

Quote:
An out-of-this-world case brings Brennan and Booth to New Mexico where they investigate human remains with extraterrestrial attributes. The victim is identified as a local UFO fanatic, known around town for her relentless search for alien life forms and whose latest “evidence” leads even Brennan and Booth to re-think outside existence. Meanwhile, a local sheriff refuses to release the bones, forcing the team at the Jeffersonian to work via satellite, and Angela and Jeffersonian intern Wendell come clean about their relationship.

I don`t watch Bones but saw the teaser for this ep last week. Looking forward to this big time!

Re: Bones homages The X-Files on Th. 1/14 @ 8 PM on Fox

Bern, the first season of Bones was pretty sharp. The dialogue is witty and clever and the characters are pretty intriguing. I thought it was a lot like the first couple of seasons of CSI (when I still followed). It's definitely worth watching.

Recently, we've noticed more and more that they no longer justify the FBI's involvement in what often is "just" a murder case, or how the characters interact with suspects. They used to make certain there was a reason for the FBI to be in on the case, or a reason to have certain characters interact, but now it's just a murder-of-the-week that the team works on. There's been a greater shift to character exploration as well, but that was always a part of the show from season one.

The wife and I have really enjoyed the series, especially last seasons finale, which re-imagined the characters as part of a night club, rather than part of the FBI and Jeffersonian forensics department.
