Re: Bones homages The X-Files on Th. 1/14 @ 8 PM on Fox
Bern, the first season of Bones was pretty sharp. The dialogue is witty and clever and the characters are pretty intriguing. I thought it was a lot like the first couple of seasons of CSI (when I still followed). It's definitely worth watching.
Recently, we've noticed more and more that they no longer justify the FBI's involvement in what often is "just" a murder case, or how the characters interact with suspects. They used to make certain there was a reason for the FBI to be in on the case, or a reason to have certain characters interact, but now it's just a murder-of-the-week that the team works on. There's been a greater shift to character exploration as well, but that was always a part of the show from season one. The wife and I have really enjoyed the series, especially last seasons finale, which re-imagined the characters as part of a night club, rather than part of the FBI and Jeffersonian forensics department.
