So we've mentioned an upcoming convention reunion for the ladies, but what's the chance of seeing them reunited on a new Cleo project in the future? Of all the previous Ren pics shows, I wonder if Cleo and Jack are the least likely to ever return, it seems like a Hercules or Xena project would have greater potential to draw viewers.
Then again, Vicky, Gina, and Jennifer's other efforts seem to air over and over again in reruns, so obviously someone's watching them, right? |

This is a wonderful discussion topic that I think plenty of the old guard like Kea, Darkamber and Bailey should join in on, just for the heck of it.
Realistically, since neither Jack nor Cleo ever attracted many viewers (although they got more than Seeker does now, and more than any show on Syfy ever got) it seems fairly unlikely. Herc and Xena had a bunch of viwers and a lot of mainstream visibility, for a few years anyway. With Jack, bigger problems include where it could turn up again (it wasn't exactly a comedy... nor an adventure show) and the nature of its stars - Angie has left acting, and Bruce at the time was 41 but looked 35... while now he's 51 and looks 51. An easy solution would be like Mad Max (or the Hopkins/Banderas Zorro) - just have him pass the sword to his son... but there just aren't too many people who would remember who he was to begin with. The positive side of that is that Bruce puts a little of himself into most of his rioles, so in a way, we see his same character now. Just like there were never any sequels to Casblanca, Captain Blood or Rio Bravo...but we got to see Bogart, Flynn and Wayne play essentially the same characters again and again. Now with Cleo.... the actresses really haven't changed physically at all. Two tough 40-ish babes and a 30-ish protege is quite feasible. And the "world" of Cleo is so vast and so complex that there are a thousand different plotlines that could be done, and Syfy has plenty of available timeslots to fill. BUT... as above, the show wasn't that popular. They've revived other franchises, but mainly from the big screen. (Highlander was both a series and a movie series that still benefits from brisk dvd rentals and reruns of the movies.) Most of the others have been horror franchises (Pumpkinhead, Return of the Living Dead, etc.) What would be extremely cool is if someone revived the Cleo stoeryline, but didn't necessarily market it as a continuation of a failed show. A la Andromeda, which rose from the ashes of Genesis Two and Planet Earth. Now the key to Jen et al.'s continuing reruns is that they all guested on popular shows (Alias, CSI, etc.) All of that said, if someone went to Syfy and "pitched" a low-budget science fiction action thriller with Gina Torres and Vicky Pratt, it would be picked up in a heartbeat. Bruce's comedy hybrids haven't been that commercially successful though. (Although since he produced his own movie and shot it ultra-cheap, I'm sure he and Dark Horse did just fine financially.)

Re: What's the likelyhood of ever seeing new Cleopatra 2525?
If it would happen, I think it would be one of their Saturday night movies, for sure. I don't see them picking it up as a series, nor do I think the three ladies would want to commit to show as a series again (that's 100% speculation, BTW).
![]() It seems that the majority of the SyFy movies are that horror/sci-fi hybrid rather than good old fashion science-fiction. Cleo is nice in that it's perfect for a kind of retro sci-fi B movie sort of thing. As you observed, the world is open ended enough that you could do just about anything, too. How many times have they re-aired all those Vicky Pratt movies on SyFy? You've been keeping track of some of them, I know, and they're into double digits. So a Cleo project seems so obvious, you know? |

Re: What's the likelihood of ever seeing new Cleopatra 2525?
It's so unlikely that I'm afraid to even dream about it. But it would make an above-average Syfy movie. I think some original SciFi movies were sequels to more popular films... so why shouldn't they try with a cult TV show?
Another concern is that maybe not all the cast members would want to reprise their old roles. However, they could set the story some time in the war for the surface against the Bailies, and give a good explanation about the absences (e.g. X character is on a mission undeground). Creating new situations (the war for the surface) or maybe a few new characters would make the movie easier to be followed by those who didn't watch the original show... all that they should know is that Cleo was frozen, the Bailies are the humans' enemies and there are women with the will to survive. |

Re: What's the likelihood of ever seeing new Cleopatra 2525?
Gina and Vicky are working steadily on various projects, and I think it's doubtful they'd sign on for a reunion or continuaiton of 'Cleo'. Though I never was a fan of the 'Cleo 2525' show, I wouldn't mind seeing either of them, much less BOTH, in a project.

They work steadily, but don't have long-term commitments to anything right now; Gina is a recurring character on two different shows, Gossip Girl and , but that's just a few episodes each season. So they could make just as much $$ for a Cleo movie as any other kind. (With Gina's hubby's gig on CSI, she doesn't exactly need the money, but still.) Realistically, they'd need to tone down the action scenes for two 40-year old beauties vs. two 30-year-old ones, but there could be any number of possibilities, including Voice dying, retiring, disappearing, going over to the dark side, etc. and Hel and Sarge having to take more of a thinking-leadership kind of role. Cleo could have developed combat skills in the ensuing decade (assuming Jen could be coaxed back into acting) and be the leader of a new team, with two new 20-year-old babes. ![]()

That would be great, in the last episode it was clear the Voice was, at least, morally ambiguous. I really liked the "fallen" Hel arc, but for some reason she forgot all her doubts about Voice and became her best friend again. I would really like to see the girls finding out the truth about Voice. |

I would guess that if they ever did any new Cleo they'd probably ditch most of the old continuity and just go with a new, independent story. I guess you could use the old continuity, but you'd have to sum it all up pretty quickly, since the vast majority of viewers would have zero idea of what was going on, or even know that it was something based on an old tv show. |
