Question Butterbeer. Who's tried it?

When I first read about "Butterbeer", I pictured a butterscotch flavored soda that produced a head similar to root beer. But then I read one of Athena's comments in the "you know your obsessed with Harry Potter when..." thread and I clued into the fact that some people might actually try to make "Butterbeer" and may have even posted there recipes online.

So I googled it: BUTTERBEER
There are literally hundreds of sites with dozens of different recipes out there. Some require microwaving Root beer and butter, some melted butterscotch, and some even require alcohol.

So, I was wondering if anyone here has actually tried to follow one and/or make there own and wether it turned out alright.

As a secondary question, does anyone here think that Mrs. Rowling should release an "Official Butterbeer Recipe" to the public? Maybe so that one of the larger soft drink manufacturers could mass produce it for the Harry Potter crazed consumer market.

You mean, searching for a topic before re-posting said topic?

Well, guess this proves that nobody is perfect. And darn it!! I was so close too!

Hi Athena, sorry not to have answered this sooner. I've been out of town for a couple of weeks. Here is the original thread:
