Purpose
The Fan Sites Reviews Forum is provided to members of the SF-FANDOM community as a resource where they may share opinions about other fan sites or seek detailed comments on their own sites.
Rules specific to this forum
Posts in this forum will not be added to your post SF-FANDOM post count.
Any active SF-FANDOM member may comment on 3rd-party fan sites.
No links to Web sites (even fan sites) which contain nudity, pornography, hate-speech, material of a mature or sexual nature, or material which advocates illegal activities. Fan sites often make use of trademarked images and names while providing a disclaimer. Links to such sites are permitted. Links to sites which do not acknowledge trademarks and intellectual property rights may, at our discretion, be removed without notice.
Off-topic discussion will be moved or deleted at our discretion without prior notice.
Bashing or bad-mouthing other people's sites is forbidden. Please keep Web site rivalries and personal hostilities out of these discussions. Negative reviews are permitted so long as they are not hostile. i.e., It is acceptable to say, "This site does not appeal to me", "I do not like this site", "I feel this site is not well designed". Deliberately insulting, abusive, or otherwise hostile language is forbidden. Comments about Web site operators, particularly hateful or condescending remarks, may be edited or removed at our discretion. If you cannot provide useful feedback or constructive criticism, please say nothing about sites you do not like.
If you request a review and the feedback is generally negative, please do not become defensive. Advice and feebadk should be offered on a take-it-or-leave-it basis. Therefore, you should politely thank people for their comments without arguing that they may be wrong. If you legitimately feel that someone has overlooked some portion of your Web site, do point it out but keep in mind that they may have had difficulty finding that section.
SF-FANDOM posting policy
All rules as set forth in our
posting policy, except where noted here, shall be enforced in this forum.
ADDENDUM: August 26, 2006
It seems the 100-minimum post count rule is too harsh and restrictive. I will allow first-time posters to announce their Web sites for a few weeks and we'll see if the practice becomes abusive.-- Michael
