If Aliens land and want to take over, there are people in the street, BUT it will be easier for them to succeed, as they can surround, and isolate Humans, and effectively lay siege to the earth.
Going by your subject, there are lots of affects of the epidemic on conventions.
The last convention that I attended was a year ago in Boston. I have just had some training in how to help Host the Zoom meetings that will be this years Virtual convention.
Worldcon is trying to decide if they will be Virtual in August, or move to December for a live event.
Albacon, Albany, NY is still listed as September 2021, with both date and location TBD
