Trying to remember the name of SF movie ..... Real Mystery.

  Hi;
  I recall seeing, many years ago, a Sci Fi movie that was very old school and enjoyable.  I can only remember one scene vividly and I would really like some help in getting the name of the film.
  
  The scene I recall is as follows;
  Some sort of space walk scene, on a planet.  the space suits were solid primary colours (Blue, Red etc).
  The "oxygen" was a small grey/black cube that attached to the top corner of the back pack on the space suit.  Looked like the size of a cigarette carton.
  Space suits were not bulky, slick and really not very "high tech".
  At one point, someone's "oxygen pack" was damaged and another person replaced it with one he had - only to find out that the replaced oxygen "cube" was in fact poison and killed the astronaut he was trying to save.
  I seem to recall that the weapons used were old school (guns I think, not blasters or ray guns of any kind).....
  
  It is all clear in my head, but I have no idea what film it was.  I have a feeling it is a older film (1990's?).
  Is this stirring any memories??

  You could have been describing any one of a hundred movies up until the poison pack. It's not ringing any bells for me.
  
  Could it be an episode from a TV show?
  
  That said, here's a screen shot from Destination: Moon (1950 George Pal movie). Did the suits look like this? No one actually dies in this movie.

  No, not this one - but really close.....
  The suites I recall were smoother, more like "latex" and not as "tubular" on the arms.
  The "air pack" was rectangle, square - about the size of 1/2 a loaf of bread - and dark silver (grey?).
  It continues to bug me, and I keep replaying the scene hoping to remember more.

  Unfortunately the trailer doesn't show if they had weapons.
  
  I vaguely recall seeing a movie about space travelers with firearms in space. But I think I saw that when I was a kid.
  
  And it could be we're focusing on the wrong cinematic style. I think there were a few Japanese movies from the 1960s and 1970s where people wore colored space suits.

  I've been chatting with ChatGPT about this topic and it has unfortunately failed miserably to suggest any movies that even come close to the description, although it did mention a few space duds I think I'm glad I never saw.
