I don't remember much about the Matthews story, so I guess I'll have to reappraise it. For me the worst book is THE KEY OF THE KEPLIAN. I think McConchie did an awful job with the story. I never finished the book. It's a rare, bad book when I can't finish the read at least once. Mary Schaub does an okay job with the material. I have no complaints about her writing. But the most Andre Norton-like author (in my opinion) is Pauline Griffin. It's a pity they took REDLINE THE STARS away from her to give to some guy who will appeal to a "younger" audience. At least, that's what I've been told -- don't know if it's true. Probably not much hope for TIME TRADERS, either. It's a pity when Andre Norton titles have to be farmed out to people who won't even try to write like Andre Norton. Michael
