: I did visit Barnes and Nobles recently. Didn't see one Norton title on the shelves. I really hate when that happens. Of course, maybe it means they were all purchased. :) : But when I see some of the tripe that takes up shelf after shelf, and a classic author's works aren't available, I really wonder if the publishing industry remembers how SF got to be so big in the first place? The Edgar Rice Burroughs fans seem to run into the same situation. You just can't find the titles any more it seems. It may have something to do with where your B&N is located. Since I first discovered Andre Norton almost 30 years ago I have never been in a bookstore -- other than genre-specialty stores -- in my area (San Francisco) that didn't have some of her titles, or at least a noticeable gap in the shelves where they should be. What IS irritating, however, is the number of titles which are no longer in print. I am lucky to find ten of the 142 titles the Library of Congress associates with her name -- and that's including the "Trillium" books. It is especially annoying since there are at least five titles which I have NEVER seen, and one (Stand to Horse) that I THINK I may have read when I was seven, but can't find to be sure -- except at a price that I definitely can't afford. Any ideas? (Other than AMAZON.COM -- they already have it in my want list) Michael B. Caffrey Stellae Nostrae Sunt!
