: : : MARK OF THE CAT, 1992 illustrated by Karen Kuykendal : : : Andre Norton was very interested in the brightly colored drawings done by Karen Kuykendal and the cats depicted in these drawings, who appear to be dancing or floating. The cats have star patterns on their backs, and swirl patterns.

: : : I didn't know that there was a follow on Tarot Deck.

: : : If you get any more information on it, I would be interested in purchasing a copy for myself.

: Paul Goode here. Ignore the aul Goode mesage. I have large fingers. Miss Norton told me that the Mark of the Cat was indeed based on the late Karen Kuykendal's The Cat People Tarot of which I think I remember her saying(at the 1992 Worldcon) that there was a deck and a book of background material about the Cat People. Unfortunately, the publishers were not interested in the proposed sequal. A while back, I saw the cards at my local Waldenbooks. I am not sure if they are still there. I will check.

I took my own advice and went to www.newleaf-dist.com (the tricky part is knowing they're newleaf-dist, not just newleaf) and searched on Kuykendal. Meow.

ISBN 0880794208 Tarot Of The Cat People, A Travelers Report is $9.95 and is NOT, I think, the book you mention above.

ISBN 0881795328 is the deck and book set for $26.

ISBN 0880790784 is just the tarot deck.

Surely someone sells these off the web. Finding them and ordering the books is left as an excercise for the collector (merow?)
