: : : Thanks, Ms Adkins, for the kind words. But do people really want a round of "what's my favorite"?

: : You're welcome. Why not? It's one of those topics which, although it seems old, is always new, because new people always like different books. Even if they like the same ones, they like them for different reasons, always a welcome opportunity to look at old favorites in new ways. For example, since I'm interested in languages, I tend to notice her use of words. People with different interests may notice or infer all sorts of fascinating things from data I overlooked completely.

: : If not this topic, choose another one that inspires you. Andre's oeuvre certainly affords ample scope for all kinds of fun discussion! I look forward to hearing what you have to say.

: For me, there is no fair way to pick one favorite among Andre's : works What criterion do I use? The one that hooked me on reading in general and Norton in particular; The one that saved my life; : The one I loved so much that I named my company after it; the one that I reread the most; the one I helped get into reprint and received a copy with a very nice inscription; the ones She hasn't written yet(that is what is keeping her alive). These are all very different books. These criteria and many others are personal as are anyone's reasons for choosing . I might be able to pick a top ten list, but like any such list, it is always open to criticism and interpretation. One way to choose a top ten is to say what if you were exiled somewhere and could pick ten Nortons to take with you, which ones would you choose.--Talh about difficult decisions--Later, Paul
