: Goodness, I'll bet you're going to hear from a lot of people on this one. I would begin with one of three classics: : 1) Witch World (1963). The starting point for a worldscape that stretches over more than thirty-five years of writing and more than two dozen books. If this one catches you, there is an immediate run of four more (Web, Three Against, Warlock, Sorceress) with the same characters and setting. And thereafter numerous branches. But do start with "Witch World" itself. : 2) Judgment on Janus (1963). Sequel is Victory on Janus (1965). : 3) Moon of Three Rings (1966). Sequels are Exiles of the Stars (1971), Flight in Yiktor (1986) and Dare to Go A'Hunting (1990). These books are sometimes known as the Moon Singer series. : It's worth bearing in mind that a lot of Ms Norton's writing is Sci-Fi sliding over into Fantasy, both in a given book (or series) and moving through the years. Witch World is her best known "fantasy" series. Both of the other titles I suggest here have fantasy components, and both also thread in elements of her sci-fi "common universe". : Enjoy. And let folks here know how the plunge works out for you. Great start, Tom! Then, Emilia, you might want to go with Judgement on Janus and Victory on Janus followed by Storm Over Warlock and Ordeal in Otherwhere. Enjoy--Paul
