: : This is even more fun! : : : And Ray, What about her non-genre gems: : : Follow the Drum : : I saw a copy, for $250, at DeepSouthCon, a few weeks ago. Also remember that I'd like to reprint all/most of her "YA" non-sf, like this. (Or, "general adventure" vs. SF.) : : : Iron Butterflies : : Good grief. Is that one of the romances? I may have seen a copy, if so. : : : The Prince Commands : : Had (and sold) and read the paperback. One of, or was, the first book she had in print. Pretty good and not dated. Would need an intro., etc., though. "Beware the were wolves." : : : Yankee Privateer : : Been mentioned here a lot. : : : The Sword is Drawn : : Sword in Sheath/Island of the Lost : : At Sword's Points : : I've got them in Unicorn Star edition. "Top of the list." : : : Murders For Sale/ Sneeze on Sunday : : Has been discussed a good bit, here. Got my ears pinned back on the Dorothy-L list, talking about that one. Someone posted how realistic the village was and how much research must have gone into that, how great a book it was, and other stuff. I answered with something about how it was actually one of the least liked Andre Norton books, by hard core Andre Norton fans. The original poster than became quite upset, claiming I was denigrating Mystery Fans because she didn't know the book was simply written "in the period" by a co-author who "lived there" rather than having had a lot of research done. I was then rescued (more or less) by Toni Kelner (of Boston area -- Irene -- you'd like her). Toni's a pro/published mystery fiction author who is also an sf&f reader/fan ... and started on Andre Norton among others. : : : Ralestone Luck : : Another of the "YA's" I want reprinted. : : : Snow Shadow : : A romance? Once upon a time I set up and ran The Romance And Cookbook Bookstore, uninc. It didn't last long but I had, in stock, all or almost all the Andre Norton romances ... and read two or three of them. That was 1986 and my memory is ... murky. : : : The Opal-Eyed Fan : : Romance. Read at least part of it while waiting for non-existant customers. : : : Caroline : : Will let Irene et al chew on that one. : : : Imperial Lady : : With Susan Schwartz? : : : and going back to genre fiction, how about OUTSIDE, Ray, have you read that excellent book? Later --Paul : : That's a Norton book? : Now Irene gets to straighten me out as usual. Hey, I can top those -- Scarface, Shadowhawk. Rebel spurs. heheheh
