: Does anyone have a complete list of novels
published under the name of Andrew North?
The name Andrew North was used on the Gnome Press
hardcover pub. in 1955 of Sargasso of Space as was
Plague Ship pub. in 1956. When Sargasso of Space
was reprinted by Ace in paperback (D-249 Double
with The Cosmic Puppets of Philip K. Dick) they
used on the cover, spine and title page "Andrew
North" but on the back of the flyleaf (facing the
title page) is the statement "Andrew North happens
to be the same as the writer better known to Ace
Books readers as Andre Norton." When Ace did the
first publication of Voodoo Planet in 1959, the
paperback original (D-345 Double with Plague Ship)
they again used Andrew North on cover, spine and
title page. On the Plague Ship side of the Double
is again the statement facing the title page
"Andrew North happens to be the same as the writer
better known to Ace Books Readers as Andre
Norton." Thus there are three novels first
published using Andrew North as the author. Of
course, the reprints use the name Andre Norton as
author.
