: : Another side issue that comes up are the Four Great Weapons. I could be wrong but I think they are the Ax of Volt, the Sword of Ice, the Sword of Lost Battles and the Sword of Shadow. Could anyone bring further insights into this matter? The Sword of Unbelief definitely is not among them.

: : Thanks for the information about the stories in the Lore and for the plot summary of the Sword of Unbelief. As to the Four Great Weapons, I certainly agree that Volt's Axe has to count. I thought from the Trey of Swords that the Ice Sword WAS the Sword of Lost Battles - both carried by Tolar and then Yonan. And it was never clear to me that the Sword of Shadows was part of that line; Crytha's finding and use of it seems different from the others. But I didn't find the Trey of Swords very clear generally.

: Well, I haven't had time to read this thread, but I don't remember the Ax of Volt being named one of the Four. Whathisname's ax, the
: guy Tolar found in the ice, was one of the four great weapons. I don't think we ever really learned the name of the fourth weapon. I
: may be mistaken, of course.

For Hank & Michael
I just reread Trey of Swords and found the following on pages 63 and 68 of the Ace edition:
The Sword "Ice Tongue" found by Yonan (Tolar) is also known as the "Sword of Lost Battles" and leaves Yonan in Torgi's cave. Whereabouts now unknown. But it is identified as one of the Four Great Weapons on page 63. We are also told on the pages mentioned above that the Ax of Urak also known as "Helm Biter" is one of the Four Great Weapons but Urak keeps it. So, I think Michael is right on his point and we HAVE TWO DOWN. I hope someone can come up with the identity of the other remaining.
Richard
