: : I've been re-reading the early books and notice that Ms. Norton : : does not refer to any specific year. I really didn't remark any naming : : of years until "Year of the Unicorn" and the first Gryphon book.: : One of my ideas is that the naming conventions did not start until : : other writers started contributing to the Witch World series. Is this a : : realistic idea? Any comments? : The first year names were published in the third Witch World book, YEAR OF THE UNICORN, : which Ms. Norton wrote by herself. She may have mentioned year names in the Tregarth : children trilogy (THREE AGAINST THE WITCH WORLD, WARLOCK OF THE WITCH WORLD, and SORCERESS : OF THE WITCH WORLD). : You can browse the year names on the Witch World Page. I believe I indicated the books : where I got them from (at least in some cases). : Michael Speaking of time lines, has anyone else ever noticed a discrepency in time between Spell and Gryphon in Glory? In Spell of the WitchWorld - the short story Dargon Scale Silver, Elys and Jervon meet for the first time. Jervon makes a comment about a rumor that the Dales have elisted the aid of the Were-Riders. In Gryphon in Glory, Elys and Jervon meet Joisan and Kerovan as Kerovan is sent into the Waste to strile a deal with any who reside there on behalf of the Dales. It is he who makes the initial contact with the Were-Riders to discuss them joining the Dales in their struggle against Alizon. Did I miss something or was this an oversight on the part of Andre?
