: Just wanted to let you all know that I do check into this message board quite often, even though I don't post ;). I hope this site never goes away!

As long as I have the Xenite.org domain, this message board will stay here. I promise! :)

Thanks for coming out of lurk-mode.

: The fact is that the attraction of Ms Nortons' books do not lend themselves to controversy . Her books are true stories about the human spirit, and so clearly does she depict her protaganists that I am swept up into the world/story she is presenting. There are few writers who can so "suspend disbelief" that I take for granted the outlandish worlds, the science fiction backgrounds, and am caught up in the actual story right away.
: My view is _still_ that Ms. Norton does what she does so well that she makes it look easy. It is not. Witness the failure of some of her "collaborative" works. (I am not dispairaging the collaborations; it is just that they are not true, unique Andre Norton.) After almost 30 years, Ms Nortons books are still in my library, and one of the few authors I never sell when 'cleaning out' my shelves.

Absolutely. Even though I'm admittedly not enjoying GARAN, THE ETERNAL as much as I like her other books, I have many, many Andre Norton books (besides the Witch World books) and she typically does get down inside the characters in a way other authors fail to do.

: A very old Norton fan:)

Never too old to be a Norton fan! :)
