: Sorry to hear college didn't go so well, but at leats you're still in. Let me share a (non-Norton) story with you from my own college days.: When I took English 101 for the second time, my professor, Dr. Bergeron, told us about the first day HE went to college. : He said all the freshmen were herded into the auditorium and the president of the college got up to give a speech. He ended the speech by telling the students to turn to the person on their right and introduce themselves. So they all spent a few minutes telling each other their names and then the president told them to introduce themselves to the person on their other side. : After the students had finished the second round of introductions the president said, "Now, in four months, one of the people you just met will not be here." : That's a 33% dropout rate in the first semester (or quarter). : I don't know if it still holds up, but when I went to technical school many years ago, I started an 18 month program as a member of a 65-student programming class. Six of us got our diplomas. : Hang in there. It was that bad or worse when I went to College. The good news is that IF look at 5 or 7 years instead of 4, and transfers to smaller colleges or easier programs, about 95% of the people who were really determined to graduate, did so.
