We've barely been online a week, but I'm still kicking myself for not finding everyone sooner. Oh, well--that's what repentance is for. I've just spent the last few hours reading all of the messages posted for the last year or so in the classic fell swoop. There's nothing like immersion for learning the language in a hurry!

I've subscribed to a couple of author mailing-lists; you don't seem to have anything like that. It's just as well; the legal half [mentioned in the email address] will be relieved to cut down on the piles of postings.

It _is_ nice when the postings come to you; however, I think the current format has its own advantages. I particularly enjoy the connecting of follow-up messages; it's so easy to read connected messages, rather than having to plow through dozens and then sort of mentally reconstruct the conversation.

The only thing I wish you'd change [if you can] is the wearisomely lengthy repetition of the previous message[s]. With the way you have connected messages linked, there's no need to repeat previous messages to keep track of the thread of ideas. In fact, the constant reiteration is extremely annoying, particularly in those cases when it is necessary to skim through several pages of repeated exposition [however interesting] to simply read a one-line comment of agreement or gratitude.

The ring concept is fabulous! I haven't fully explored all the other sites yet, but look forward to that pleasure in the near future.

It's also exciting that Irene Harrison has begun posting to this list. Between her and Michael, on many matters relating to Andre, we can make like the Mr. Ed theme song, "Go right to the source/And ask the horse/He'll give you the answer that you endorse/He's always on a steady course..." straight to the Andre Norton shelves [and shelves, and shelves...]

I'm enjoying the variety of topics discussed and the serious discussion. Many interesting ideas have been raised and analyzed over the last year, and many nitpicking details have been agreeably brought to mind. Thanks again!--JMA

P. S. Why are Andre fans so attractive? [Because we're all so good-lurking, of course.]
