: That should have read, "canonical" and "non-canonical".

Michael, I know just how you feel.

Sometimes I think that "canonical" should be spelt "cannonical" and aimed at the people who make the biggest fuss about it.

As for feedback, here's my take on it:

If Andre has put her name on the book, the contents are "canonical" -- no matter who wrote them.

BUT (here's the kicker) -- they are "Secondary, "not "Primary Sources"!

The way I group them, WITCH WORLD is a "Primary Source" -- it was prepared by the Chronicler from direct accounts (i.e., her own Talent). On the other hand, "The Gate of the Kittens" by Belden in CATFANTASTIC or "La Verdad" by Major in TALES OF THE WITCH WORLD 2 are "Secondary": they were prepared by somebody else from "other sources" (their imaginations, as stimulated by the Primary materials).

Secondary source materials may not be completely accurate -- after all, if they were, Andre would have written them herself.

The logic may be flimsy, but it works for me.

Respectfully,

Michael B. Caffrey
