Hi all. Finally had my baby (yet another bloody boy) so I can spend some time checking the message board again. There have been some interesting search stories lately (no I cannot match let alone outdo them)which prompts me to ask what search services people have found to be the best? As a result of my living in the States (LA) for a year I used several of the local sci-fi-fantasy bookstore specialists there, but since returning to Australia I have been using Amazon.com. The problem is that although they are producing the goods, they are proving a little expensive (of those that I buy I pay on average about $17 US per book) - I have to refuse anything over $25 (when it comes down to my Norton's or feeding the kids it's a close call but the kids win). What sort of prices should I be expecting to pay? What would you all consider reasonable? I don't care whether its a first edition or not and prefer paperbacks (for shelf-space reasons).

I cannot remember who was asking for it but I have a spare Puffin (UK Publisher) paperback of Catseye if they will accept that. Here in Australia most of the books are by UK Publishers so that some of the ones I have noticed several of you having difficulties obtaining are still reasonably obtainable. If I can help anyone out just ask.

Ngaire
