: You guys don't want much do you? There is never one set of : grading rules. But the best rules (ABE and ABA associations) : have been covered in print. I'd just be borrowing from them. : OR : Do you want me to discuss WHY to buy the 'Fine' condition book : over the 'Good' condition book, and what that would mean to : your collection?Speaking strictly for myself, I was thinking that a simple set of "here's what to look for" would be cool. I realize that collecting criteria are well-documented, but not everyone is going to be serious enough to want to pursue it with the same dedication as a hard-core collector. If I come across a mint-condition 1st ed, however, how am I to know that? I tend to just buy the books when I see them. The condition isn't something I normally consider, but if a gem falls into my hands, it would be nice to know before I just slide it onto the bookshelf.
