: Many signed Norton books are now advertised as 'signed
: book plate'. Will books with signed book plates have the
: same collectable value as book signed directly? Do some book sellers acquire these signed book plates and add them to their books to inflate value?

No they will not have the same value as a book actually held in the author's hand and signed. Yes some book sellers would do that to inflate the value
