My personal knowledge is that Karen showed/sold the artwork at cons, like the WorldCon, for years and years. Then, one day, Andre's book came out. I'm pretty sure it was AFTER Karen's book(s). My best guess, based on selling metaphysical books (which includes tarot decks), but not having any hard info. in front of me, is that the tarot deck was done at the SAME TIME as the book with which it's sold. Of course someone COULD track down Karen and simply ask. I think she lives in CA (if she's still alive). (She was no spring chicken.) Paul here. The Mark of the Cat was 1992. the cards were(I believe) 1988. And SADLY, Karen passed away last June or July. Andre Norton related the tragic details to me over the phone a few weeks ago. Strangely, it was just before all these messages about the Tarot cards started appearing on this message board--spooky.
