The window on a world analogy is good, I like that too. And like you I get immersed in the world as I read about.

I first started reading Norton when I was in about 7th grade. I would go to the library, find a book and a corner and read it straight through. When I finshed I would get up and not remember where I was or barely even who I was. I would stumble outside and have to re-establish this reality.

I still prefer to read her books all at once. The door to those worlds begins at page one.
