Andre mentioned this in a letter. But it was 20-30 years ago, so I may have gotten things messed up.

As I remember, the book was CROSSROADS IN TIME. The culture pictured was North American and strongly American Indian influenced.

Andre pointed out that Richard III had planned to back exploring parties that could have reached North American sooner. The European weaponry would not have been so overwhelming at this time. The two cultures would have mixed.

Again, this is my memory of what Andre wrote.
