: : : : I was told that one of Andre Norton's time travel books was set in an alternate universe where Richard III won the battle of Bosworth. None of books by her that I have read or the plot synopses I have been able to find sound like this. I was wondering if any of you know the title of the book (assuming it exists).

: : As I remember, the book was CROSSROADS IN TIME. The culture pictured was North American and strongly American Indian influenced.

:
: Close, very close.

: This question had been bugging me as the theme sounded very familiar but I couldn't place the title until you suggested 'Crossroads'. The book that deals more with it is "Quest Crosstime" the title that follows "Crossroads in Time". The world in question is mentioned very briefly in 'Crossroads' but in 'Quest' the main character of the two books - Blake Walker - must rescue one of a pair of twins that had been kindnapped and taken to this world. Within the text is the explanation of how that world differed from our own in terms of Richard III etc.

: I could kick myself as I only reread 'Crossroads' last week so it was fresh in my mind. I really like both of these books and wished Andre had written more of them.

: Hope this helps!

: ps Irene is having a great (if tiring) time here in Australia.

Hey Ngaire, Thanks! Haven't read that one in a while. Think I will just have to go and do that right now. Tell Irene we all(The Message Board) said HI and wish we were there. Really!--Paul
