: : I'm not suggesting this could turn into a Tarzan-like : : marketing bonanza for Andre. I'm just suggesting that it may : : help bring in some new fans.: And then again it MIGHT just turn them OFF!-Paul I understand this concern, but I've never met anyone who was turned off Andre Norton by the Beastmaster movies. I have seen a number of L. Sprague deCamp Conan fans be turned on to Robert E. Howard, however, when they went looking for more information about the character. A fair number of people have said in alt.fantasy.er-burroughs that they enjoyed the old Tarzan movies and would never have discovered the books had it not be for Johnny Weismuller, et. al. Those movies were pretty bad adaptations by all accounts. At least up until the 1960s, when the Tarzans started becoming more talkative and intellectual. I'm keeping an open mind. Any opportunity to talk about the new television show is also an opportunity to present Andre Norton's books in a positive manner, regardless of whether the series seems related to the books.
