::What sticks in my mind is that his race had short grey fur, and was looked down upon for it. I don't think the the main character in Secret of the Lost Race has "short grey fur" - time to re-read the book.
The character is descibed as looking very young but otherwise 'passing' as human. It is not until the end of the book where he is revealed as being half human. Characters with Short Grey Fur??? Eet in the ZERO STONE, is described that way. An inheritance from his mother, the ship's cat. By UNCHARTED STARS, Eet is fully grown, and looks bipedal, though about the size of a small child. Several other characters in Norton's books have had scales, fur and feathers but it is much to early in the morning to list them all.
