Gael, reading Gryphon's Eyrie without having read the other two Gryphons would be rough. It's pretty explicitly a sequel. I struggled a bit to get through it myself -- maybe because co-authored, maybe because it was one book too many in a thread that wasn't one of my favorites. Though others, as you've heard, do like the Gryphon story. So, do give Crystal Gryphon and Gryphon in Glory a chance. Note that all three use the device of alternating the narrative between Joisan and Kerovan.Have you read Horn Crown? Though written in 1981, it's actually the entry into High Hallack, the landscape of Year of the Unicorn, Jargoon Pard, the Gryphon books. P.S. But first, please read all the sci-fi titles so we can solve the short, gray fur mystery .
