: I was asked last month about a book MONSTERS LEGACY. Seems some pretty reputable book dealers had never heard of it. That book, like RIDE THE GREEN DRAGON, are children's books, and were badly marketed. You had to be, like me, haunting the lists in LOCUS and order the books from your local store. Both of these were remaindered VERY early.Thank you, Irene. That explains why Green Dragon was ridiculously hard to find. For a long time, I saw only the one listing, at $300 for F/F. Then I found an exceptionally nice $12 ex-libe -- pictoral rebind with only library mark a sticker at foot of title-page, and a price-clipped but otherwise VF dj. I think the book was never put into circulation. Can't remember now, but there might also have been a copy on eBay last fall, as part of someone's shelf-reclamation project. : The longer you are in the hunt. The less you need to find. Once you have found a book, you are less likely to notice when it comes up for sale - OR that it doesn't come up for sale ever again. Nice point. And part of why I had problems with the second half of my list is that I actually have some of those books.
