: : THE MONSTER'S LEGACY ?Is a YA book. Badly marketed. Part of a series of books with Purple & blue dust jackets. Great story with magic overtones.... The raiders came on a sunny day. First they overtook the party of our Mistress while they rode through the woods. Then they used her to gain access to the keep. Slaughtering her after the gates were open. But one ranger survived under the bodies of his companions, and in the keep the young lord was entrusted to the arms of the aprentice seamstress and thrust into the hidden escape route. Escape was unlikely, but they found their way to the mountain of the monster. : : : DAY OF THE NESS ? Contemporary with aliens: A young boy and his cat like sitting on the top of the hill. The hill where there was the crash of an alien space ship. Now the 'got-yas', and other small aliens need help to rescue their 'deep-think' for the evil overlords. I mostly like this for the cat, who is an active participant in the rescue. : : : RED HART MAGIC ? Contemporary with fantasy overtones. The two young people are strangers, forced to live together with an aunt while their parents take an extended honeymoon. Through the agency of a 'peep-show' model of an inn dream through events in the past, solve their problems in the present and eventually to trust each other. : : : STAND AND DELIVER ? This book you had to buy when you saw it - but I did see a copy on E-bay the other day. This is a continuation story for YANKEE PRIVATEER. It furthurs the story of the FarStar family. Murry leaves the forests where he was living with the indians. A sorry muddle awaits him. His father is missing on a trading trip, and his titled family ties in England are forcing him to return to take over. : : WERE-WRATH? : : The one about the civilization South of Egypt? No? Think I read it but memory blurs. Yes this novella was originally printed by Cheap Street in a very fancy edition. Luckily for most it was reprinted in WIZARD'S WORLDS. The story starts with a woman fleeing. She flees to the only safe place she can reach. Safe in the sense that a haunted forest is safer than the sure death behind her. There is a small cabin in the clearing, and the cat on the steps watches her approach.
