: I just got a pre-pub edition of "To the King a Daughter" it was in pile of books that were being dumped by a reviewer. : Dare I hope that he'll write up the book for one of the trade publications and The Lady will finally get some publicity. : I also have been hunting for several yearsfor the book, for which Roger Schlobin's bibliography states. : "Introduction to Nicholas Stuart Gray’s ‘The Star Beast’. Author’s Choice 2. London: Hamish Hamilton.", 1973 : Then Paul Goode related the tale of his sister and her Heinlein book with a front page 'review' by Andre Norton. : Could it be that I've got an error in the bibliography? : I've tracked down a later Ace editon of Heinlein's THE STAR BEAST, and sure enough it has an 'introduction'. : Does anyone out there own the Gray - THE STAR BEAST? Does it have the Norton intro, or have I been barking up the wrong BEAST all of these years. : Irene Dear Irene Nicholas Stuart Gray is a favorite of mine and I have gone carefully through all my copies to see if The Star Beast is listed as a title by him. It is not and long, long ago, I wrote Schlobin to the effect that I believed the bibliographic entry for it to be in error. I have all of Gray's titles including the Play Acting editions so I am fairly confident in this matter. For the record, Andre told me when I visited at her home in Florida that Gray was among her favorite authors. Cats are a frequent subject for Gray so this is understandable. Richard Frahm
