: According to the latest Locus Magazine; rights to Witch World
: sold to Tim Kwok & Viall Weintraub for TV.

: OK, kids - there is a real chance that Witch World might get
: to the small screen.

I want consult! I want to consult!

: Some of our hopes and dreams might be realized for a really
: good TV version.

: Of course we can all remember the version of BEASTMASTER that
: is on our TV right now (and the lovely job done with STARSHIP
: TROOPERS).

Hey. I LIKED the "Starship Troopers" movie. Verhoeven was up against the same kind of problems a lot of film-makers have to deal with when adapting SF to the big screen.

The power-armored suits would have been nice (and more faithful to the original story), but can you imagine how much they would have cost? We'd never see it.

Maybe in a few more years someone can redo the movie with CGI power-armor Mobile Infantry and fans won't be so hostile. But "Starship Troopers" was nonetheless a good movie and I still enjoy watching it.

I've learned not to expect things on the screen to be like the book. That's just the way it is.

But if Simon doesn't marry Jaelithe....
