: : Hey. I LIKED the "Starship Troopers" movie. Verhoeven was up against the same kind of problems a lot of film-makers have to deal with when adapting SF to the big screen.: Actually my complaint was their using a fort without a roof even though the enemy had flight. That hasn't been a successful tactic since the Indian Wars of 1890 or so. I liked TROOPERS too, but agree that the roofless fort was dumb. : Perhaps take a different part of the world, and build a series, OR every week place the story in a different part of the world. Then as long as they didn't step on any major WW plot lines.... Absolutely! I'd hate to see the TVers even try to adapt any of the existing WW tales to the tiny screen...they're BOUND to get it wrong. It'd be best to come up with totally new stories all their own, but based on WW, its sites and its peoples (NEW sites and NEW people) and its customs. But leave Simon and Jaelithe out of it. Aloha, Jack
