One more thing. Ellis seems to be sternly critical of the academic community. One review of his book on the Druids alleged he was engaging in outright attacks on them.I've read part of a speech that Ellis gave on etext.org, and he does treat one academic historian with a measure of derision. I, myself, have come out from time to time with similar heated criticism of some academics, so I don't necessarily hold his temper against him. In my case I have been harshly critical of researchers who have been advocating the use of link popularity in building search engines (not a topic for discussion here -- people are welcome to debate with me in the forums at http://www.webmasterworld.com/ and http://www.searchengineforums.com/).
