: I learned to keypunch on IBM 021 and 023 keypunch machines, but Ahh yes, (he reminisces fondly) the 023...I keypunched my first programs on one for an IBM 1120.: : In a more modern time, I would have just suggested that she : : send a virus to the robots - or better yet, just have them all : : have Microsoft operating systems - then they'd crash often & : : just have to be re-booted. 8^) : The lost alien virus jumping up from the planet in the form of a raw lightning bolt to infect Picard's Enterprise still sickens me, but I have to admit, even with the breakup, there is a very Eh? what was that in? And did you see the movie _Virus_ w/ Jamie Lee Curtis? In that one, an electronic lifeform (don't know that you'd call it a virus) inhabiting a plasma cloud hits a satellite in the middle of a download and gets sucked down into the russian (spy?) ship that was doing the download. Of course Our Heroine and her trusty helpers have to destroy it before it transfers to another ship and eventually takes over the world. I had technical issues with it, but if you can suspend your disbelief, it's a pretty good show. : real danger that we'll be saddled with Microsoft's crummy operating system for at least another generation. I agree. Luckily we've had better for several decades now. And Linux is coming along nicely.
