Just finished watching "Cat's Paw" episode of StarTrek written by Robert Bloch. I'm sure most of the HPL fans are aware that Bloch was a frequent correspondant with HP, and if I remember correctly the two even killed one another in seperate stories. (I'm miles away from my books tonight and can't check.) Anyway, it's been years since I'd seen the episode. So I was quite delighted to notice Bloch's name on the credits. I knew he'd also written the "wolf in the fold" episode. It's one of my favorites.So here's this bizarre episode in which two "wizards" are tormenting the away team with magic. And it turns out that the aliens are emissaries of the "Old Ones." The ending shows a strange effect with two tiny tentacle headed puppet aliens writhing around til they die and disolve into smoking goo. I think there's some kind of Lovecraftian connection here. Hmmmm. :)
