Spoiler Space ... if you haven't seen it and still want to ....

Matt: Couldn't agree with you more, I would just scream my disappointment much louder! I haven't been this disappointed in a film in a long time -- and I always account for shamelessly false exploitation and disingenuous commercial promotion. Blair Witch was a good premise but only succeeded as a B+ student film at best. I must have missed the disclaimer advising me to have a blood alcohol level of at least .25 before I set foot in the theater. That, AND the recommendation that I take Dramamine before I endure 87 minutes of that shaky, hand-held "auteur" (yeah, right!) film style so that I wouldn't notice that queasy feeling in my stomach and a headache that lasted two days! I was getting so irritated at the tedious whining of those three "outdoormen" that I was about to find that darn Witch myself just to shut them up. Actually, I still think the rock piles and twig bundles were sort of demented Boy Scout hint to just strike a fire and either do away with them, or send those three folks on their way. *Deep breath.* I feel better now. Anyway, the real "genius" of this whole Project was the marketing department. But how so many so-called reputable critics were duped by this approach, I'll never know. Even my own home town newspaper critic raved about Blair Witch Project. All I can say to those of you who haven't seen it, save your money and your time. The scariest thing about it is that it made it to national distribution!
