I think you'll find that while the special effects are "whiz-bang" that you'll feel a bit like you just rode a kiddy roller coaster. Fast, but no danger... Mega-disappointing.I havent seen "The Haunting" (original or remake) but the remake looked like a big CGI extravaganza just from the commercials. I love Lili Taylor and C-Z Jones is a honey, but I don't think I could deal with the CGI. We need to find a middle ground!! BWP didn't show you enough and The Haunting showed you too damned much!!!
