: I can thoroughly recommend all of them. Hodgson also had a series of tales, much like Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos, though Hodgsons were all set in the Sargasso sea. OK, I'm going to _have_ to find one of them now. One of his stories is in the "HP LOVECRAFT'S BOOK OF HORROR" [isbn 1-56619-496-2] which I picked up at Barne's and Noble for around $6.00 in the bargain bin. Awesome book, although it is somewhat discouraging to find just HOW MUCH of HPL's work is based on other works. [Although I'd say Stephen King's work is quite similar. His "The Shining" is very similar to Shirley Jackson's "The Haunting of Hill House." I could go on... but I won't.]
Besides, that's enough parenthetical expressions for one day.
