As I was reading through these intense discussions, I noticed somebody mentioned Glorfindel and I remembered a question that has always bugged me. Are there two Glorfindels? Because in the Silmarillon there is a Glorfindel mentioned, but he dies somewhere in there (in the secret city? I haven't read the Silmarillon for awhile...) and I seem to remember it specifically saying that he went to the Halls of Mandos and stayed there. And so is the Glorfindel mentioned in LOTR another person named after the original? Or is this another of Tolkien's mixups that he never got to fix?I appreciate any clarification! :) Patience
