: : If anybody out there knows the name and/or the lyrics of the : : Led Zepplin song where they include words about Gollum and : : "Under the Hill" and other stuff like that, I would be most : : appreciative if you oculd post it.: I believe you're thinking of "Ramble On" from Led Zeppelin's 2nd album. The verse I remember is something like, "In the darkest lands of Mordor I met a girl but Gollum the evil one stole her away, away." : Zeppelin actually makes reference to Tolkien in a few other songs as well. I've read discussions of where "Stairway to Heaven" has such references but I cannot recall what they were. : Michael I saw, many years ago, a lyric/score book of all Led Zep's songs up to "In through the Out Door". And the spelling of the reference to Gollum was "Golem" but I reckon it was the publisher's proof readers being over zealous. Robert Plant is on record as being an ardent admirer of Tolkien's work. The track with the most overt references to Tolkien, in addition to "Ramble On", is "The Battle of Evermore" from the "Untitled", "IV" or "Four Symbols" album - (whichever title you prefer). It contains a line about "The Ring-wraiths riding " or something like that.
